I’ve Got A Plan

Hey guys! you may of notice but I have changed my blog around a little bit. I am still going to be doing book related posts but I want to branch out a little bit.

The changes are adding more sections to my blog like beauty, d.i.y’s, college and travel.

2018 is going to be an amazing year for traveling as we already have a few trips planned hopefully there are going to be more.

My aim is to go completely cruelty free by next year. I have a lot of make up however so I’m still going to be using that as I don’t want to waste it as make up isn’t cheap!

So that is my plan, thank you for reading feel free to leave a comment down below.

Summer Reads

Hello everybody today I have 5 books I want to read this summer or books that I want to read before I start college again. These books are ones that I’m eager to read there are a mixture of romance and a couple of thrillers in this pile.

The first book being Two By Two by Nicholas Sparks I really want to read all of his books I’ve only read three but the three of them were incredible. Two by Two is about Russell Green his life is perfect he has everything a family, a good job and an amazing home but cracks are showing. The life he took for granted for is turned upside down. Looking after his daughter by himself all he knows is that he must protect his daughter. In his new chapter he will have an encounter that could make him the happiest he has ever been. Goodreads Link.

Then I want to read The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon I have been meaning to read this one ever since it was released. Natasha family is twelve hours away from being deported, she is a science and facts girl not fate or destiny. Daniel is the good son, a good student not a dreamer. When they first meet they forget everything they ever thought. I have really high hopes for this book. Goodreads Link.

Falling by Jane Green sounds like the perfect summer read for me. Moving from England to New York City she has found success in finance. Answering to an online ad about a beach house she thought it was perfect for her interior design side of her. Her new landlord Dominic is a local handy man with a six-year old son. He isn’t the usual person Emma would fall for but she is anyway. Goodreads Link.

Another summer read is Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty. I don’t know much about this book but I think it’s one of them that you go in blind to really enjoy it, on Goodreads it looks like people either love this book or didn’t enjoy it at all but I’m hoping I’ll be one of those that will enjoy it. It all surrounds a barbecue which goes really wrong someone innocent is dead, a friendship is destroyed and a marriage is going through a rough patch. Goodreads Link.

I’m really hoping to get around this one as it sounds like something I’ll really enjoy it’s a thriller with romance which are two things I love! The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer is all about a women who used to work for the government then one day they go after her. On the run she is offered one last job that will change her life being no longer on the run the only problem she is falling for the man she was sent to get. Goodreads Link.

They are all the books I really want to read in summer. Thank you for reading, feel free to leave a comment down below.

Reading Challenge Update 2017

Hello it is that time of the year where I update you guys on all of my bookish goals.

My Goodreads challenge has been going really well this year as I have read 30 books so far this year. I am so happy with myself for keeping up to date with it as this year i have read some really good books.

Another one of my goals is to read more genres I have defiantly done this as recently i have been reading more mystery books i know i have bought more mystery books so the second half the year is defiantly going to be me reading more genres.

Reading out of my comfort zone is another goal I have been doing as i have been buying books that i haven’t seen around but they sound really good to me.

Read 5 classics is a goal I haven’t yet to complete i have only read 1 classic this year but i have bought two recently which i will be reading in the second half of the year.

Complete more series is the last goal I set myself this year and i am doing well with that, i’ve completed 3 series which i could do better but honestly there are so many new releases that are out i am getting distracted with them.

So that is a quick update on the goals for this year. Can you believe we are half way through the year already I still can’t wrap my mind around it.

Thank you for reading, feel free to leave a comment down below.

How is your reading challenge going?

Series I Want To Finish

Hello everybody today I am going to talk about some series that I want to either finish or catch up on this year. Recently I have been clearing out my book shelf while i was doing it i found some books that i loved, i am terrible for starting a series but then never finishing it so these five books are ones i want to carry on. Also the reason i kept them was because i actually remembered what happened in them which for me is a sign i did enjoy them.

Goodreads link. The Queen Of The Tearling by Erika Johansen is a book I read a few years back on holiday, I remember it being a really intense read for me. It all surrounds Kelsea Raleigh who is now of age to return to her throne, she has been in hiding for most of her life. I’ve just heard great things about this series hopefully i will buy the other books soon.

Goodreads link. The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson is the first book in the Mistborn series and it killed me. I remember crying and not wanting it to end, the magic system really intrigued me, the characters and the plot sucked me in even more. Now this series has 7 books in it I think so I probably won’t finish it this year but i will do it at some point.

Goodreads link. The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin is the first book in the Mara Dyer series. This book was really good the ending though i wasn’t expecting. This book is about Mara who was in an accident that killed her friends but she was fine. I really want to carry on with the series as I want to know what really happened that night, also there is going to be a spin-off series on Noah I believe.

Goodreads link. Half – Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout is another series I want to finish. I don’t actually remember much about this book. I really like the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout so I want to give some of her other books a go.

Goodreads link. This book honestly was incredible everything about it was just mind-blowing. I’ve only read the first book and I know already that is it going to be a whirl wind to read the rest. This book reminds me of Game of Thrones with the families, power and how they all link together.

Thank you for reading, feel free to leave a comment down below.

What series do you want to continue?

Evolution of my bookstagram.

Hello everybody as my second bookstagram anniversary is coming up I started it on July 1st 2015 and I honestly had no idea what I was doing, so I thought i would show you all the different themes i went through to find the one i am using now. I guess why i am doing this is to show you that nobody knew what they was doing or what to expect when they first started i know i didn’t. So if you are reading this and you have a bookstagram account but you are worried why you aren’t getting the likes you want, hardly anybody is following or even if you don’t have a clue what theme you want to do, then i am about to show many…. many themes i went through.

Photo 1. These are the photos that I started off with as you can see they are all pretty much the same picture but with a different book.

Photo 2. This is where I started with a theme I started to add props, play around with the angles. Also I used different books so i didn’t have the same twice in a row.

Photo 1. The after a while I changed it up again to a more gray tone theme. I started to post pictures that just aren’t books but pictures of stationary to.

Photo 2. Those leaves took forever to cut out. This theme I actually did enjoy for a while it was clean-looking I felt.

Photo 1. This is the theme I like to call ‘Allie Went pumpkin Crazy’.

Photo 2. This theme is darker compared to the others and more yellow.

This is my winter theme which I stuck to till the new year. I think this was when I finally figured out how to have the full photo fitting my feed and not having the photo chopped off

Then finally this is my feed that I have kept since the new year. For Christmas I got a camera and honestly it has changed everything i can have myself in photos and i can play around more with the angles also.

I hoped you enjoyed reading this post, feel free to leave a comment down below.

Lets Have A Natter: Is reading a book that you have high expectations for a good or bad thing.

Most of the books I have read are all mostly hyped about so when you do pick it up of course you are going to have expectations.

Whenever I do pick up a book I do try to forget what people have said about the book as i want to make my own opinions, however i can’t get ‘must read’ or ‘amazing’ out the back of my head at times.

Most of the time I totally understand why the book is hyped up however you do get the odd book where you don’t get why. Whenever this happens to me I am always disappointed as I really wanted to enjoy it as much as everybody else did. I very rarely put down a book i will always carry on reading to see if something amazing happens.

An example of a book that is hyped up is I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson, I have to say this book was a complete cover buy. However loads of people love this book but in all honestly I didn’t enjoy it as much as everybody else does.

Overall I think it’s not a bad thing to have high expectations, where there’s hype there is going to be expectations.

What book did you read that you had high expectations for? Did you enjoy it?

Did you read a book that you had low expectations for which surprised you with how much you enjoyed it?

Thank you for reading.

Series I Won’t Be Finishing

Hello everybody today I am going to be showing you some book series that I don’t plan on finishing this is either because i didn’t enjoy the first book to carry on with the series or i have read the books a while ago and have no interest in carrying them on. I probably won’t go into much detail with these books as i read them a while ago and some of them in all honesty i can’t remember what happens.

The Novice by Taran Matharu is the first series I won’t be finishing this is about Fletcher a blacksmith apprentice who discovers he can summon demons. He travels to a military academy to be trained along side others like him but he must watch his back and be careful who he is friends with.

I did like the idea of this book but nothing really happened for me because I actually can’t remember much that has happened the one this I do remember is the ending is like a massive circle.

Goodreads link

The Maze Runner by James Dashner is the second series I won’t be finishing as I really didn’t like Scorch Trails i thought it was really slow with what i can remember.

Goodreads link

Fire & Blood by Victoria Scott like the other books I read this years ago and just never got around to picking up the other books in this series, if I never got around to it then i probably won’t now.

Goodreads link

Starcrossed by Josephine Angeline is the first book in the Starcrossed series. I remember putting this book half way down it was so slow, I felt like other than that nothing else happened with what I can remember.

Goodreads link

The Storm by Virginia Bergin I didn’t even realize this book is the second book in this series.

Thank you for reading.
